About Us

We moved to Hungerford Park with a young family in 2005 and since then have given our time and energy to restoring the original deer park into a peaceful haven for wildlife, the local community and our family to enjoy. The deer still graze amongst the horses, pigs forage in the woods and insects pollinate the orchards and walled garden. The renovated cottages provide rental accommodation to locals and visitors and small businesses use the space in Cider yard. Even the old railway carriage from Barrs Yard was given a home as our estate office. Our farm shop Source was open from 2015 to 2019. The produce was used by Ollie and Lauren Hunter in their pub The Wheatsheaf in Chilton Foliat.

Where history, nature, and unforgettable experiences come together.

Nature and aesthetics have been at the centre of our endeavours. We farm with low intensity on the landscape, improving the soil, planting trees and hedges. Where possible we use reclaimed materials and have planked our own fallen trees to create wood, for example the new lychgate at North Lodge.

We will continue to care for this beautiful area of West Berkshire and its wildlife whilst also looking forward to enhancing our sustainability by farming electricity and providing power to our locals.

The farm is managed on a day-to-day basis by Mathew Clowes. Since moving from South Africa in 2022 he has transformed the various operating areas of the park and is the first port of call for all general enquiries.

Our super host Vicki Cruse manages and coordinates our holiday cottages to an exceptional standard. She is first person to speak to about weddings, parties, wellness, and all things celebratory.
